Listings tell you the house has a finished basement. They do not tell you whether anyone ever pulled a permit for it. Our free extension reads the address on any Zillow or Redfin listing and shows you what the city has on file.

A small marker appears in the corner with the permit count and open-permit flags. Click it for the summary, or pull the full report.
Enough to know whether to worry
The marker answers one question for free: is there anything here worth looking into? The report answers the rest.

What it will not do
Show a zero it cannot stand behind
Outside our 34 cities the marker simply does not appear. An empty result on an uncovered address would read as a clean history, and that is worse than silence.
Read anything but the address
It pulls the listing address and asks our database about it. It does not touch your saved searches, your account, or any other page you visit.

Replace a permit search at the city
We publish what the city publishes. Records lag, and some departments never mark a permit closed. Treat an open permit as a question to ask, not a verdict.
